Leslie, Elsie
(1881-1966)
   Born Elsie Lyde in Orange, New York, the child actress captivated New York theatergoers in Editha's Burglar (1887), Little Lord Fauntleroy (1888), and The Prince and the Pauper (1890). After a hiatus, she returned in The Rivals (1898), The Christian (1901), and others, without achieving her earlier level of success.
